Okay, on being a teacher. I use to be a part time teacher in a tution centre. WHY??
Firstly, it is all about the money baby..I need extra cash in order to have a comfort life..chewahh...*So untrue* I need the money of course for me to shop as much as I want. Ya, am not going to lie. I love to shop!! I still do but lately my self conscience has overuled the thoughts of shopping sampai lebam. I am not that shopaholic anymore but I do shop regularly laaa..
Secondly, it is due to my obsession on becoming a teacher. Just so you know, I did applied for KPLI or DPLI but my application has been turned down. Perhaps they do not see me as a teacher. Ya, poor me...I do have a degree in Chemical but I guess the thought of being a teacher suddenly hits me knowing that it is hell when you work in a private sector. Kenapa??Because the work loads are too much and the pays are not that high but you still have to work right?? Sebab itu lah I applied KPLI. Apparently lady luck is not on my side so I have to be content on being a part time teacher at a tution centre. Jadi cikgu sambilan pun kira okay lah kan.
The moment I start to teach, I guess I pretty much falling in love with the occupation itself. It is such a joy you know when you ought to teach something to those children and knowing that they actually understand it and get that knowledge from you. It felt glorify somehow...Tiba-tiba akan ada satu perasaan proud of diri sendiri and I did feel good about myself knowing that I gave them a knowledge for them to actually become a better person.
And owh...I love kids so much. So, I prefer to teach kids yg berusia 12years old and below instead of teaching those sekolah menengah kids. I teached Math, English, BM and Science.
Being a teacher is not that easy. Some people might think that a teacher is the easiest occupation of all. Guess what??It is absolutely not. Because being a teacher means you have to deals with people. They are not just ordinary people. They are the children whom are in the misdt of learning about life. Therefore, a teacher play quite a big role in a child's life. Because they are the one who feeds all the information to our children in order for them to actually become a person.
It is not an easy task to develop a child's education. In a class, you won't be facing children yg semua nya pandai2. There will be few kids yg a bit left behind. That is a challenge for most of the teachers. Our goal is to make sure semua murid-murid bukan sahaja simply understand the subject but to be able to apply those understanding into their life. I take Science for example. We live in a world where Science is the centre of our life. So a child need to be able to apply what he/she learns in a Science class in his/her life. Contohnya...what a human need in order to be alive??How do we get our oxygen??You know...those sort of things is what we learn in school. So, teaching is not easy. You have to make sure that all of your students get all the inputs right.
Being a teacher also needs you to be more patience. Obviously, patience is not my strongest virtue. It has been tough as hell but I am glad that I manage to stay patience with them.
Btw, don't try to be too friendly with your students because children nowadays memang susah nak respect orang yg lebih tua. I try once to be friendly as I do not want to treat them like what their teacher at school treat them but seriously, it does not work that way. Once you are in a friendly term with them, they will use that as an excuse to be rude at you. And to make it worse they treat you like their friends. So, it is a big NO-NO ya.
Unfortunately, I can no longer be a part time teacher. My work definitely does not allow me to have any extra jobs. Sometimes I do have to come home late and it is hard for me to actually revise all the syllibus given. I do miss all the excitement on being a teacher. I am still actively teaching but nowadays I only teach my baby sis and her cousins. I think the best thing about teaching is that I am able to use my brain all over again to solve all those trickly math questions. I love math but I love chemistry more!! LOL
I miss them actually....my class of 2009, standard 3. And yes..my favourite student who gave me a charms bracelet on Teacher's day. So sweet of you...Rindu Hazim!!!
P/s: Hazim is the one who wear yellow shirt with blue bag.
