Hurrmmm…I am always confused when it comes what kind or what type of kata nama to be used during conversation with someone that I just knew.
Normally, I have actually classified each of my friends on what am I suppose to call them.
Truth to tell, I have lots, tons of friends. Friends from childhood, friends from schools, friends from Matrix, friends from UTM, friends from works, clients and the list goes on and on.
With those I am close with, I tend to use kata ganti nama diri yg kedua which is “kita – awak” kind a way. It is just the way I tend to pronounce myself with those I am close with. Same goes when I am with my childhood friends. Dari kecil sampai ke besar, that is how we communicate. So sweet kan….*hee*
With school friends, it is depend because I can simply say that I tend to use “aku – engkau” lots with them. Tak kisah lah if you are male of female that is how we use to communicate. I guess by using that kind of kata nama, it seems that we raise the bar from just friends to close friends. I guess…
However, when it comes to male population, I would normally use “aku – engkau” unless if we just knew each other so I tend to be polite by using “saya – awak” but once we know each other closer, our self pronouns are going to change to “aku – engkau”. That is why, most of my male friends always question me “ Tihah, nape dgn pompuan je ko mesti ckp “kita – awak” ??” And my answer is always this, “Sebab pompuan adalah kaum yg lemah so kena lah ckp lembut.” Boleh terima tak?? Hehehe…Seriously, I don’t know…that is how I have been raised to I guess.
At home, even though with siblings it is forbidden to actually use “aku – engkau”. My parent raised me to simply call each other names to pronounce ourselves. Those who said “aku” at home mmg confirm akan di”cili” by my mother.
But, if somehow someone tends to talk to me by pronounce them as “aku”, then I have no problem on follow the suits. Saya tak kisah cuma sincerely said, I am a bit uncomfortable on using “aku – engkau” with female. I found it too harsh pulak. *hehe*
Nowadays, it seems that I have been using lots of “ I – you”. Perhaps it is due to work. Because in work, it is not professional for me to speak like kanak-kanak sekolah right??Yes, semakin aging, our ways of talking also change. We tend to be more professional and matured.
But, I am still me…seorang yg masih lemah di hati, overthinked, and macam-macam lagi. Susahnya nak berubah jd lebih baik. I am striving myself to be better each days but somehow, it is hard to do so. Maybe solat tak cukup sempurna lagi. =_______=
Ok bye!!
